Help Support the Coalition
For the 2017/18 budget year, NPCNYS has asked the legislature to increase funding to the coalition to $250,000 from $150,000. With these funds, we intend to enhance our ability to evaluate the network and provide targeted technical assistance to you, our members. We also have plans to introduce new programming, including a new executive director mentoring and Americorps VISTA. The bottom line is that increased funding for us equals increased capacity for you.
Please sign on to show your support for a stronger coalition.
The letter of support will be delivered to the legislature on our Lobby Day, which is March 13, 2017.

Text of Letter of Support
Dear Chairwoman Little and Chairman Cymbrowitz:
We, the members of the Neighborhood Preservation Coalition of New York State, Inc. respectfully request that you include an appropriation of $250,000, a $100,000 increase for the Coalition.
Affordable housing preservation and development are critical issues in our state. In these challenging economic times, it is especially important to ensure that low-and moderate-income families and individuals have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. As NPCs, we work to make this happen in our local communities, and we rely on the technical assistance provided by the Coalition to help us prepare and submit applications to HCR, as well as help connect us to resources that expands our capacity to deliver services.
NPCs are vehicles to address unmet housing needs in urban and suburban areas throughout our state. Our organizations contribute to economic development efforts, improve health and education outcomes, and help lift people out of poverty. We need a strong Coalition to help us address the changing needs of our communities. Whether or not all of New York State’s communities will provide roads to economic prosperity for their residents depends in large part on investing in the programs the Coalition advocates for. Therefore we, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Legislature appropriate an increase for the Coalition so that it can expand its capacity and help NPCs more effectively deliver their services.
Sincerely,
