The Herman D. Farrell Jr. Policy Leader Award honors a dedicated and highly-respected public servant who served as the New York State Assembly representative for District 71 until 2017.
For over 40 years, Assemblyman Farrell was a tireless advocate for affordable housing, education and the environment, and was the original author of the Neighborhood Preservation Company legislation.
This award honors his spirit and his memory, and will be presented to a state or local government official who has worked to create and/or preserve affordable housing and helped spur neighborhood revitalization.
The selected recipient will demonstrate, through their activities, a commitment to improving the lives of low-and-moderate income individuals and families, and will be presented as part of our 2018 Healthy Housing: a prescription ordered for all communities luncheon.
